"As an active member of the Phoenix Arts community, it was not much of a leap for David to decide to go from a struggling member to a proactive leader. David moved to the Valley in the summer of 2000 from St. Louis, Missouri, to attend the Art Institute of Phoenix. Upon graduation in 2003, he began work immediately in freelance web design and development for numerous clients, all the while continuing to produce Fine Art on the side for personal enjoyment and exploration. David recognized a difficulty faced by artists to successfully penetrate the scene, or to communicate amongst them.
So he did something about it.
Though he does not entirely identify as a fine artist, David realized he did have the technical skills to create a space and the tools to enable the entire community to advance. Phoenix Art Space was born in a coffee shop in early 2006 and has been growing and evolving ever since.
David now directs operations and manages all technical programming and design for Phoenix Art Space. He looks forward to Phoenix Art Space becoming a vibrant and self-sufficient asset and a driving force in the Arts communities. We've only just begun. "
